Marathon Energy assigns pre-feasibility study to VannZa Group

Marathon Energy Consortium has contracted with VannZa Group, through Westek Forest, Ltd., for phase one per-feasibility study of the Matanda Biomass Power Project in Zambia. Project will include initial capacities of 20 megawatts biomass power to be supplied by Matanda's plantation land bank. Participation engineering partners HDR, Inc. will be providing data support for analysis of 15,000 hectares plantation, upstream feedstock, logistics and processing infrastructure.

Spectrum Corporation engages VannZa Group for Alabama log export program

Spectrum Corporation of New Zealand contracts with VannZa Group, through Westek Forest, Ltd. to perform per-feasilbity study for new southern yellow pine log processing center.  Spectrum anticipates the new processing and material handling facility will support their growing market share in the China containerized round log import volumes.  Spectrum Corporation owns and operates Radiata Pine plantations in New Zealand as well as sawmills on the North Island. The venture in the South East United States is expected to produce 150,000 m3 annual output of debarked logs, with export through Port of Mobile Alabama.

APRIL Group invites VannZa for Sumatra steep slope harvesting analysis

APRIL Group, PT.Riau Andalan Pulp & Paper invite VannZa Group to tour their 480,000 hectare plantation system for preliminary analysis of planting, harvesting and processing activities. APRIL is developing a continuous improvement program to reduce costs and mitigate effects of labor demographic risks in steep slope management programs combined with low land peat soil feed stock outputs. Mechanized planting and cable extraction systems are target priorities to improve yields and efficiency.

United Khmer Group engages VannZa Group for Cambodia mill complex

United Khmer Group of Cambodia signs MOU with VannZa Group for development study of $23 million USD investment in vertically integrated forest products mill complex in Kampot Province. Project design will utilize residual timber on 12,000 hectare forest lease conversion to Oil Palm plantation within the province. Products to be marketed globally in the value added luxury woods sector with residual waste to support domestic biomass energy power producers in Phnom Penh garment and industrial markets.

City of Seattle Watershed Forest Improvement and Protection Program

The City of Seattle, in the State of Washington contracts with Westek Forest, Ltd. on a landmark multi year task order platform of forest improvement and enhancement of the City's watershed serving more than 1.4 million downstream water users. Project objectives highlight mitigation of sediment delivery to reservoirs and forest canopy optimization through density reduction using skyline cable harvesting systems. Westek Forest assisted in contract development for multiple year, task order contract platforms for cost optimization and resource planning efficiency. 

RusForest Harvesting and Infrastructure Improvement Program

RusForest engages Westek Forest, Ltd., an affiliate of VannZa, to improve operational efficiency of Boguchany, Russia mill and forest operations. RusForest, one of the largest vertically integrated private forest products companies in the Russian Federation works to improve internal landed product cost structures, quality controls, infrastructure and product outputs. Installation of a new HewSaw 250 and log yard sorting line with upstream infrastructure modernization for improved product flow.
